Add absentify to a Teams channel
With absentify’s seamless integration in Microsoft Teams, you can manage absences directly within specific Teams channels. This helps your team stay organized and simplifies absence planning for departments or projects.
By linking absentify to a Teams channel, you can access your absence planning workspace without switching platforms. This ensures absence data is relevant and tied to the right teams or projects.

To add absentify to a Teams channel, you’ll need:
An active Microsoft Teams account.
An active absentify account with departments configured.
If you haven’t already created a channel, follow these steps:
Open Microsoft Teams and navigate to the Teams tab.
Click the Plus icon next to your team name and select Create a channel in a team.
Name the channel, provide a description (optional), and set its privacy. For example, this user wants to create this channel and share it with the Marketing Team.
Click Add to create the channel.
Once your channel is created, you’re ready to link absentify!
Within your new Teams Channel where you want to add absentify, click the Plus button from the top panel to add a tab.
Search for absentify and click Add to link absentify to the selected channel.
Choose the desired department from the dropdown menu. (These departments should already be configured in absentify.)
For example, if you’ve created the channel for Marketing, select the Marketing department from the absentify workspace.
Name the tab for clarity (e.g., "HR Absence Planner" or "Marketing Team Absences").
Save your changes.
Now, when you navigate to that specific channel in Microsoft Teams, you’ll find the absentify workspace directly accessible.
Save your changes, and you’re ready to use the new tab within your channel!
