Adjusting allowance visibility in the overview page

Are you looking to standardise your absentify overview page to display remaining allowance quota for the appropriate user? You're not alone! Many users prefer a focused view that limits visibility to specific departments. Moreover, rest assured that absentify’s design ensures that not all users can see the remaining allowance of others.

Here’s a quick and easy guide to adjust your settings for a customized and clutter-free Overview.

Hiding allowance quota between users

Allowance visibility is role-dependent:

Admin: Can see all leftover allowances from both the Overview page and users’ calendars.
Manager: Can see remaining allowance quotas for users within their department from both the Overview page and users’ calendars.
Approver: Can only see remaining allowances for users they approve.
Normal User: Can only see their own allowance.

Limit visibility across departments

Why hide other users?

In a busy organization, seeing everyone’s schedule can be overwhelming. Limiting visibility to just your department can help reduce distractions and enhance privacy. Here’s how you can do it:

Access Privacy Settings:
- Navigate to the main menu and click on Settings.
- Under the General tab, scroll down to the bottom of the page to Privacy.

Adjust Department Visibility:
- Look for the toggle switch labeled Allow cross-department visibility.
- Switch this toggle to Off.

By deactivating this option, users will only be able to see the schedules of others within their own department.

Additional Privacy Controls

Hide Absence Reasons and Past Absences

If your main concern is about privacy and limiting the details other employees can see, you can also control the visibility of absence reasons and past absences.

Hide Absence Reasons:
- Go to Settings > Leave Types.
- Scroll down to the Privacy section.
- Turn on the toggle to restrict viewing absence reasons to only the user’s approver, manager, and the admin.

Hide Past Absences:
- Return to Settings > General.
- At the bottom of the page, find the Show absences in the past toggle.
- Switch this toggle to Off.

These settings ensure that sensitive information remains confidential and that employees cannot see the detailed absence history of their colleagues. absentify is designed to offer flexibility and privacy to fit your organization’s needs. By following these steps, you can create a more personalized and private Overview tab!
