Edit display language

If you'd like to use absentify in a different language, changing the display language to one of the many offered can be done quickly and easily in just a couple clicks!

Change Language

To change the language in absentify, click your profile picture in the top right hand corner and click Your preferences.

From the preferences page, go to General > Language > click the arrow to view the dropdown menu. From there, you can select your preferred language from those offered.

Don't forget to click Save to save your changes.

Languages and customised settings

Please note that if your language is set to a different one than that of your administrator, certain features may not show up in your languages since your admin set up your organisation's app in a different language.

These could include the following:

Allowance types
Leave types
Department names
Public holiday calendars (the public holidays themselves will appear in your set language, but the name of the calendar could vary as well as any added public holidays outside of the set dates)

Fix Translation

You'll notice that some of the languages are translated by the absentify community as well as AI translation tools, and not by the absentify team.

If you happen to see a mistake in the translation or have suggestions for improvement, please feel free to reach out so us. We'd love to hear your recommendations!

If you find any translation mistakes and you'd like to become a part of the absentify translation community, you can now correct them yourself!

To do this, you need to register with crowdin. To register, go to the crowdin website and click on the sign-up button. Once you've registered, select the language you'd like to correct from the sidebar.

To achieve this, click on the Focus menu (Ctrl + /) button on the left side of the top rail.

Go to the Language tab, then select the language you would like to correct from the sidebar.

After that, you can see all the files for the language by clicking on the "CALENDAR.JSON" button on the top. You can also search word for word.

To change the translation, click on the string you want to translate from the left sidebar. You can also search for specific words or phrases by clicking on the search button and entering the word or phrase.

Afterwards, write the correct translation in the text field and click on the Save button.

If you add a translation that already exists in the file, you can upvote the existing translation instead of adding a new one. This will help ensure that the most accurate translation is used.

We are currently displaying a progress bar to show how close we are to having a complete translation. If you upvote everything that is written correctly, it will help us quickly reach our goal of 100%.

If you make more than 2000 changes (translation or upvotes), you will get 50% off any of absentify's paid plans!

See our plans and pricing here.

For example, if you translate 198 strings and 1676 words, and upvote 433 strings, your total contribution would be 2307, which is greater than 2000 then you will be eligible for the discount.

We would really appreciate your help in translating our website! If you are interested in using absentify in another language that is not currently supported, please contact our support here, and we will be happy to add it!
