Sync timeghost time tracking with absentify
Integrating timeghost with absentify offers a seamless experience for managing employee time tracking and absences. This integration ensures data accuracy, streamlines workflows, and enhances reporting capabilities.

Before starting, make sure you have:
An active absentify account with admin rights
An active timeghost account with admin rights
Internet access and updated web browsers
If you already have your timeghost workspace set up, you can skip ahead to the integration section. If not, follow these steps to prepare your workspace:
Ensure your time zones are synced in both accounts for accurate absence tracking. In timeghost, navigate to My Profile and select the correct time zone that matches your company's default time zone in absentify.
Note: The default time zone in absentify can be found under Settings > General. Read this how-to article for more details.
Add all the users whose leave you want to synchronize from absentify to timeghost. In timeghost, go to Workspace > Team > Invite user.
Ensure each user's schedule in timeghost matches their schedule in absentify. For instructions on setting up user schedules in absentify, read this article.
In timeghost, go to Workspace > Team, click the three dots next to a user, select Settings, and adjust Working hours accordingly.
Now that you’ve set up the necessary features in timeghost, let's begin the synchronization!
Log in to your absentify account here. Ensure you have admin rights to configure integrations.
Go to the “Integrations” section in the absentify dashboard to manage all third-party connections.
Find and select the timeghost integration option. You may need to search or scroll to locate it.
Click on Configuration > Add new timeghost synchronization to authorize the connection between absentify and timeghost. You can setup multiple synchronizations if you need to sync multiple workspaces or separate synchronizations according to departments or leave types.
Name your connection and select which departments and leave types should be synchronized.
Remember, that only the users' leave within the departments selected will by carried over to timeghost. Additionally, only the leave types selected will be logged as absences in timeghost.
in timeghost, go to My profile and copy the API Key you see at the bottom of the page. You may need to click the refresh button next to the API key to be able to copy.
After pasting into absentify, click Next.
Once authorized, configure the integration settings. Customize how time tracking data from timeghost syncs with absentify, including into which timeghost workspace the absences should be synced to and if all past absences should be synchronized.
After configuring, test the integration to ensure everything works correctly. Check if time tracking data from timeghost is accurately reflected in absentify.
Regularly monitor the integration to ensure data consistency. Adjust settings as needed based on your organization’s requirements.
After the sync is complete, the integration will consider the following:
Department assignment: Only the leave of users assigned to selected departments will be synchronized into timeghost.
User schedule: Leave within absentify will be carried over into timeghost but only in accordance with the designated working hours for that user.
Potential upcoming leave cancellations: Only retroactive absences in absentify will be synced with timeghost to account for possible cancellations or adjustments.
Absence time interval: Only the time entries from the leave within absentify will be carried over to timeghost.
Grady booked vacation on July 9th and 10th in absentify. On July 11th he booked a two hour absence for a doctors appointment. Altogether for that week timeghost will display that he is absent for 18 hours. Grady will still need to check in/out for the time around the absence.
If you need to delete a timeghost connection, navigate to Settings > Integrations > and click the garbage can symbol next to the synchronisation you'd like to delete. Before proceeding, you'll be asked if you'd like to delete all previous syncs.
Activate this toggle if you plan to setup the same integration again, to avoid any doubled absences being logged into timeghost.
Deactivate this toggle if you want all retroactive absences to still appear in timeghost, but not any future absences.
This step cannot be undone, make sure you select appropriately!
